Dr. Susan Kellogg Spadt

Has anyone heard anything about Dr. Kellogg Spadt in Philadelphia? She works for the Pelvic and Sexual Health Institute. Do you know if she takes insurance?

Yes, she is my doctor. I have been seeing her now for a few months and the treatment I'm receiving is great! Dr. Kellogg-Spadt is very matter of fact. She is confident in her abilities and really puts you at ease. She will even make you laugh.

I have traveled to Philly to see Dr. Kellogg-Spadt for many years. I have seen some results, but am less than thrilled with the office. Any comments on Dr. Nyjesi? My OB/GYN in NJ recommended him.

I have heard a couple people say that Dr. Nyjesi is good, but I have no personal experience with him. I've been seeing Dr. Goldstein and so far so good with him. Lora commented earlier about seeing Dr. Nyjesi and I think if you click on her name you might be able to find a way to contact her if you have questions about Dr. N. Good luck!

She herself is a fantastic NP, who has helped pioneer treatment in her field. She does take insurance, but you should call, because I know she no longer accepts United Healthcare, and you will have to pay up front. But again, call.

I do agree with the others. The rest of the staff is the pits.

I ended up seeing Dr. Goldstein instead because of her staff being the pits, but I have heard only good things about Dr. Kellogg-Spadt herself. I can also personally recommend Dr. Goldstein. He knows what he's doing.

Susan Kellogg-Spadt is AMAZING!!!! I am 31 years old and have never been able to use a tampon and was waiting until I got married to have sex. I attempted to go to my gyno 6 months before I was married and when she attempted to do a pap I literally flipped out. It was like someone was stabbing me. She thought I was just nervous about having someone down there. After I was married we still couldn't have sex. It felt like he was hitting a brick wall. After a few months I went back to my dr. She tried to do another pap and I jumped off the table the pain was so severe. She suggested I visit Dr Kellogg-Spadt. It took me 3 months to get an appointment even with my awesome insurance. When I saw her I was hysterical crying when she tried to do a touch test with a q-tip.on a scale of 1 to 10 my pain was a 10. She diagnosed me with vulvar vestibulitis and pelvic floor disorder. She gave me a compound cream and a Valium suppository. Within 10 weeks I went from not even being able to touch down there to being able to use a medium sized dilator to desensitize the area and stretch myself. I just saw her again and I am down to only a 2 in particular areas and a 0 in most!!! (one of the fastest healing vags she's seen!) She has a very matter-of-fact personality and that is exactly what I needed. She told me it was up to me to do this and she could only work with me as long as i tried my hardest Her office staff isn't very personable but I've never had any type of problem with them (maybe because of my great insurance). I am so fortunate to live 20 minutes from her office. I'm in and out in less than an hour. I highly highly recommend her!!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful she is and Dr. Whitmore as well. A year ago I was in their office as a virgin and after a year of treatments, surgery and follow-up appointments to treat my vv I'm pregnant. I was always treated with sensitivity and respect by them, and yes, the office staff can be a little abrupt, but they run a tight ship over there and it's well worth it. Dr. Kellogg will give it to you straight and push you forward in the kindest possible way because it has to be done. I cannot recommend the office highly enough, it has changed my life.

when spadt was workign at graduate hopsital 5 yrs ago you could see her for $50, now that graduate has closed she and her cohorts have decided to exploit us suffering women by charging $2000 for an office visit which demands we see a whole team -- and whitemore i wouldnt let touch me with a 10 ft pole. Spadt may know her stuff, but she is a nurse, not a physician, to be clear, and sheis totally taking advantage of our "disease."

I have suffered from vaginal pain for over 20 years. I have seen all the top "experts" in the field. I was one of the first members of the Vulvodynia Society. I thank God for Susan every day. She is by far the best and most compassionate doctor I have seen. She always manages to find tricks when I am in pain. I have been through hell and back at the hands of other experts. Susan is the only one I would reccomend. I travel 2 1/2 hours to see her. I don't know where I would be without her help. She has seen me through so many rough times. If you have vulvular pain Susan is the best. Her office staff is rude on the phone, but Susan always gets my messages and returns my calls.

I've been going to Dr Kellogg for 18 months now. She's done more for me than the two other vulvovaginal specialists I've seen. One had nothing else to offer and the other should be put in a cage. Yes, the office can be curt but she always has something to offer me and does Homeopathic medicine which so far has been successful. I have even referred her to my neice who is now having problems.
